Last Weekend For The Home Stead's Fall Festival Oct 20th

If you are looking for a fun activity for your family for the fall season.  The Homestead Resort will be doing the Fall Festival for the next 2 weekends.  I thought this looked fun.  Plus, I am looking for things to do over UEA next week.   Here is the info below:

The Homestead Resort will host its annual Fall Festival on Oct. 13th and 20th with activities for the whole family, including horse-drawn hayrides, a pumpkin patch and pumpkin decorating, spooky story time, complimentary hand treatments and more.  Attendees will receive special discounts for the gift shop, restaurants, spa treatments, and lodging will be discounted to $119 at the Zermatt and $109 at the HomesteadResort



Local business will participate in a scarecrow contest and decorate more than 50 scarecrows for display on the expansive front lawn of the Homestead. Guests will vote and their favorites, and prizes will be awarded. Chef Joey Pesner will offer fall barbeque favorites as well. To learn more you can visit the website here.

Celebrate The City At The Leonardo Sept 22 From 1-5

Looking for osmething fun to do on Saturday?   If so here is a fun and Free event down at Leonardo.  Here is the info from the website.
 
Get ready to celebrate Salt Lake City – 1960s style! Wear your go-go boots, bring your dancing moves and join in the fun as Salt Lake City pays tribute to the old Public Library building (now home of The Leonardo) and the era it was built. Entrance to The Leonardo is free of charge. 

See new exhibits as well as the iconic architectural features and Doug Snow mural that define the building that opened to library patrons in 1964. Activities and entertainment on the plaza include ‘60s dance and costume contests, ‘60s bands, vintage cars, catalogue card art, comics, community writing workshops and more. The event is free and open to the public.

Tillamook Love Loaf Tour Comes To Hogle Zoo July 14th

Tillamook 3rd Annual Loaf Love Tour is making its way to SLC on July 14th.  The stop will be the Hogle Zoo.

The first 100 fans decked out in their wildest and cheesiest Tillamook orange will get free access to the zoo, while attendees dressed in orange thereafter will receive $1 off general admission. Once inside, zoo-goers of all ages can sample Tillamook’s all-natural cheeses, interact with Tillamook Brand Ambassadors, meet Loafy, participate in zoo bingo, and more.

The hours for the Hogle Zoo on Saturday will be from 9:00-5:00.

Also, July 14th (7/14)  is Sugar House's Big Grand Reopening.   It begins with a Bicycle Breakfast.  Ride your bike and Breakfast is free.  Then from 11-3 they will be having a local tasting fair, kids activities and more.

The Gallivan Center and Radio Disney AM 910 have teamed up to host the ultimate field trip for kids in Salt Lake City! Kids enjoy prizes, Disney Dancers, face painters, a bounce house, a train, and other cool stuff just for them. The first one is June 19 and the event runs from 11am-2pm.  My kids have always enjoyed going to this and love riding the train.  I suggest get there at 11 it does get busy.

If you have wanted to learn more about which plants grow the best around Utah.  This is the tour for you.   Put on your walking shoes and sunscreen and head over to the Jordan Valley Water Conservatory District for a tour (8275 S. 1300 W., West Jordan, UT).

Here is another fun activity to do with your kids tomorrow.   I received an emal from Sarah that if you go to Tracy Aviary at Liberty Pary and mention Radio from Hell or X96  you get Free admission.  When I called X96 they said it is good all day.  I have wanted to go check out the new exhibits there.  It looks really nice from the road. 

Now for the hard decision which place do I go to This is the Place or Tracy Aviary or both?

Tonight is the Grand Opening of the Gallivan Ice Rink.  It should be a lot of fun with the snow falling, music.  All Skating rental fees will go to the Angel Tree!

Boo At The Zoo  -  Head up to Hogle Zoo Saturday the 29th where your child can dress up and trick or treat with the animals.  The trick or treating goes until noon.

Boo! Halloween is right around the corner and that means tons of SCARY candy! If you'd like to be able to trick or treat for some snacks that are as healthy as they are fun, bring the kids this Saturday, Oct 25 from 12 - 2 PM for trick or treating! Kids can wear their costumes too! (It's fun and free!) And don't forget to stock up on great trick or treat snacks! Happy Halloween!

Sounds like a  lot of fun!  I love letting my kids wear the costumes a lot more then just one time!
